Ann Arbor Comics Fest, this past weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was one of the best shows I’ve had in years, maybe ever. So much love and appreciation for both my comics and Children’s books. I’m humbled and grateful. My table neighbors were wonderful too. Couldn’t ask for more.
Uuhhh. A .50 cal round from a Ma Duce is still leathal even if it’s “rubber.”
I rescind the comment. Should’ve done a little research first. Still, what the heck are they doing with an M2?
Well its my fault for not being more specific. And then with turnaround times not correcting it.
Will does an amazing job with what i give him. But i spent more time on building shots in a real location than i did on plane and gun details.
Honestly? I love you guys calling me on this stuff. It means its real enough that you pay attention. We could just draw 90s guns like “Cable”. This is more fun. Even if we get it wrong.
It’s cool. BTW, does her power allow her to know how to use equipment like that just by touching it (picking up a skill from memories of past users.) THAT would be pretty badass.
Not as such. She could figure out how turn something on. She’s used her abilities before to do keycodes on security doors. She could learn some techniques from prior users, but she’s only seeing them. It would be like watching a pilot in a movie fly a plane and then trying to do it yourself.
Neat idea though.
Most important thing to remember about the only “rubber” (actually silicone, but close enough) bullets chambered in .50BMG that I could find on the interwebs: The company that makes them is called “Less Lethal Africa”. Not “Non-Lethal”.
Next, is that the closer the target is, the more likely serious or lethal injuries will result. Which makes it ill-advised to charge the person shooting these at you. That building looks a bit close.
Last thing is, that the rounds as designed do not produce enough recoil to cycle the action, so they won’t work in automatic or semi-automatic fire; you’d have to cycle it manually between shots. You could increase the propellant , but that would increase the lethality. Or maybe you can make the action of the M2 require less energy to cycle, by reducing the weight? This would make using regular ammunition unsafe for the gunner…
Given the ammo makes it single-shot only, a .50 anti-materiel rifle would weigh less and be easier to aim. And those do come in bolt-action off-the-shelf.
